Mattia Russo & Antonio de Rosa

Antonio de Rosa et Mattia Russo dirigent le collectif Kor’sia, fondé en 2015 et basé à Madrid, en tant que metteurs en scène et chorégraphes. Le chercheur et cofondateur Giuseppe Dagostino et la professeure d’arts du spectacle Agnès López-Río sont également conseillers artistiques. Le projet est né du désir d’utiliser le corps comme moyen de transcender la communication verbale. Les créations fortement visuelles de Kor’sia invitent le public à s’immerger dans des expériences globales. 

Mattia Russo et Antonio de Rosa ont tous deux été formés à l’Accademia Nazionale di Roma et à la Scuola di Ballo Teatro alla Scala à Milan.

Puis Mattia Russo a poursuivi sa carrière au Ballet de la Generalitat Valenciana, la Compañía Nacional de Danza de España et Introdans, compagnie pour laquelle il a également chorégraphié. 

Et Antonio de Rosa a dansé à la Scala de Milan et à la Compañía Nacional de Danza de España, où il est nommé soliste en 2013. En tant que chorégraphe, il a créé diverses pièces comme For Now in Liquid Days, Mirage ou Yellow Place, en collaboration avec Mattia Russo et le collectif Kor’sia. 

Lors de la plateforme de jeunes talents Aerowaves, Mattia Russo et Antonio de Rosa ont été sélectionnés parmi les vingt jeunes chorégraphes les plus prometteurs de la saison 2019/20. D’autres travaux chorégraphiques ont été réalisés, entre autres, pour le Teatro Massimo de Palerme, le Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin et la Tanzcompagnie Konzert Theater Bern (Engel in Blau / Paul Klee). 

En 2024, les projets à venir du collectif sont nombreux : après une une première à l’opéra du Grand Avignon en février et une tournée en Italie de leur pièce « Igra » en mars, il signera une création pour le Hessisches Staatsballett en mai puis une nouvelle pièce pour le Nederlans Dans Theater en juillet. 

Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo lead the Kor’sia collective, founded in 2015 and based in Madrid, as directors and choreographers. The project was born out of a desire to use the body as a means of transcending verbal communication. Kor’sia’s highly visual creations invite audiences to immerse themselves in global experiences. 

Mattia Russo and Antonio de Rosa both trained at the Accademia Nazionale di Roma and the Scuola di Ballo Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

Mattia Russo went on to pursue his career with the Ballet de la Generalitat Valenciana, the Compañía Nacional de Danza de España and Introdans, a company for which he also choreographed. 

Antonio de Rosa has danced at La Scala in Milan and at the Compañía Nacional de Danza de España, where he was appointed soloist in 2013. As a choreographer, he has created works such as For Now in Liquid Days, Mirage and Yellow Place, in collaboration with Mattia Russo and the Kor’sia collective. 

At the Aerowaves young talent platform, they were selected as one of the twenty most promising young choreographers for the 2019/20 season. Other choreographic works have been created for the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin and the Tanzcompagnie Konzert Theater Bern (Engel in Blau / Paul Klee), among others. 

For the Kor’sia collective, the arts and specifically the arts of movement, as their competence, are the only representations that manage to transmit the human world, everything created by our societies: tradition, social organisations, culture …, in a way that no other cognitive skill achieves. Surviving in time beyond the societies that produced them and managing to transcend what we call ideas, providing individuals with access to their most intimate and spiritual ways.

In 2024, the collective’s future projects are numerous: after a premiere at the Opéra du Grand Avignon in February and a tour of Italy for their play ‘Igra’ in March, they will create a new work for the Hessisches Staatsballett in May, followed by a new piece for the Nederlans Dans Theater in July.
