The audition to join the Ballet Junior de Genève, a contemporary dance training programme, is open to young dancers aged 17 to 23 (possible exception to 24) , and generally takes place in two rounds.
First round: application and video selection
Applications are open from Monday 19 January until Monday 16 february 2026, midnight.
Please make sure to include all of the following elements in your application:
– an up-to-date CV
– one portrait photo and one dance photo
– a presentation video explaining your motivation for joining the Ballet Junior de Genève
– a solo video with a duration of 3 minutes
Only entries containing all the elements will be considered.
Candidates selected for the second round (in-person audition) will be notified by email in end of February.
The audition fee of CHF 30.– covers part of the costs related to organizing the selection process: pre-selection jury, administrative management of applications, in-person jury, presence of the teachers, and the organization of two full days of auditions with no intermediate cuts. This contribution helps ensure a professional, attentive, and fair framework for all candidates.
Second round: in-person audition
Candidates selected after the second round are invited to a live audition in the Ballet Junior studios. It will take place during two days on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March 2026 (Your presence is required on both days).
This audition will include the following:
- A contemporary class
- A ballet class
- Work on excerpts from the BJG repertoire
- Improvisation
Third round – individual interviews
A few days after the in-person audition, the selected candidates will be contacted for an interview, which will take place via ZOOM.
